Michael Kgotso Aphane is a South African-born visual artist, director, and tech architect, widely recognized for his distinct storytelling lens and cultural impact under the moniker Maverick Seizure. Emerging from Soweto, Aphane began his photography journey in 2017, driven by an instinctive eye for narrative, identity, and aspiration.
Over the past nine years, he has built a reputation as one of the most compelling visual storytellers of his generation — capturing and collaborating with some of South Africa's most influential cultural figures, including the late AKA, among many others. His work quickly transcended local recognition, positioning him within global creative circuits.
